What’s Hybrid Heat?
Carrier Infinity System heat pumps represent years of design, development and testing with one goal in mind – maximizing your family’s comfort. And, for year-round efficiency with both gas and electric heating capabilities, they’ve developed a Hybrid Heat® dual-fuel system.
The Hybrid Heat® dual-fuel system operates like a hybrid car – running both on electricity and on fuel. When conditions are right (90% of the time), the system runs solely on electricity using the Infinity Heat Pump for your home’s heating or cooling needs. When the Chicago winter really hits, the gas furnace is engaged as a back-up to ensure your home stays the desired temperature.

Inverter-driven, Infinity System heat pumps with Greenspeed® intelligence can make very subtle adjustments to adaptable-speed components as conditions change. The result is smooth, exceptional comfort, extra energy efficiency, and much greater heating capacity than typical heat pumps.
EFFICIENCY
SEER2 (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) and HSPF2 (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) ratings are like your car’s MPG – the higher the number, the greater the potential for savings. Infinity System heat pumps offer a range of efficiencies that reach as high as 22.0 SEER2 and 10.5 HSPF2.
