At Wantuck Comfort Solutions, we’ve always believed that a home is more than just a building—it’s where family gathers, memories are made, and comfort matters most. This month, we are incredibly proud to share that our team is celebrating a massive milestone: a 55-year tradition of serving the heating and air conditioning needs of our Chicago neighbors!
We were recently featured in the Clear-Ridge Reporter & Newshound to highlight this multi-generational journey, and we couldn’t let the moment pass without thanking the community that made it all possible.
From a 1971 Garage to Chicago’s Trusted HVAC Experts
Our journey began back in April 1971 in a small garage near 61st and McVicker. Our founder, the late Bill Wantuck Sr., started this company with a single station wagon, a passion for climate control, and his wife answering the phones.
Through hard work, unmatched neighborhood service, and a commitment to treating every single customer like family, those humble beginnings grew into the premier HVAC business we are today at 4801 S. Knox.
While Bill Sr. passed away in February 2025, his blueprint for success lives on daily. Today, the baton is held by his son, Bill Wantuck Jr. (who rose through the ranks from field technician to President), alongside his daughter, Kristen Bagnall, who manages operations and future planning.

Deep Roots in Garfield Ridge
We aren't just a business operating in Chicago—we live here, raised our families here, and are fully invested in the community's future. From attending local schools like St. Symphorosa, Mother McAuley, and Brother Rice, to serving on the Local School Council at Byrne Elementary, our roots run deep in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood.
As we look forward to the next 55 years, our goals remain centered on growth, giving back, and continuing to keep our neighbors safe and comfortable. We are even eyeing potential new locations to serve the broader Chicago area even better!
